Framing

All framing is completed on-site at our Doncaster workshop by a dedicated team of skilled framers.

We take pride in delivering high-quality results, with attention to detail in every piece we create.

STANDARD

Sometimes, simplicity is key! For most of our print collections, we use a clean box frame with standard glass. You really can’t go wrong with white, black, or oak finishes.

CANVAS STRETCHED

Canvas is hand-stretched over a solid wooden frame, with gallery-wrapped edges that create a sleek, frameless look ready to hang.

SHADOW BOX

Shadow box framing features a deep-set design that creates space for displaying dimensional artworks, keepsakes, and collectibles with a refined, gallery-quality finish.

CANVAS FLOAT

Sleek and refined, this frame is engineered to lie flush against the canvas surface, while creating an elegant shadow gap between the canvas and frame for a beautiful floating effect.

CONTEMPORARY CLASSICS

Sleek and minimalist, these frames are a core staple at Art and Framing Company.Black, White, and Oak are our standard finishes, available across our website — from our Online Print & Frame Service to our entire Print Collections.

CANVAS FLOAT

This custom moulding is specially engineered for canvas framing.Designed to sit flush with the canvas surface, it creates an elegant shadow gap between the canvas and frame, producing a beautiful floating effect.

Glazing.

When framing your artwork, you have a wide range of glazing choices available. The first decision to make is whether to use glass or Perspex.

Glass delivers a premium, luxurious finish and excellent scratch resistance, but its fragile nature makes it less suitable for shipping or for display in high-risk environments.

Perspex, on the other hand, is shatter-resistant and lightweight, making it an excellent choice for easy transportation, as well as for large or oversized art pieces.

STANDARD GLASS

For most of our framing projects, including our in-house Artists Print Collections, we use a standard 2mm picture framing glass. It’s an excellent, budget-friendly way to protect your artwork.

PERSPEX

A high-quality acrylic that delivers the premium look of glass, without the weight and fragility.Ideal for shipping and perfect for large or oversized pieces.Note: Perspex scratches easily, so extra care is needed when cleaning and handling.

ART GLASS

Museum-grade glass with archival properties, offering 70-99% UV filtration and eliminating nearly all glare.Highly recommended for artwork of any value, such as limited edition prints and original pieces, or for installations in high-reflection spaces.

Framing Accessories

MATBOARDS

D-RINGS + WIRE

D-rings and wire make hanging your artwork on existing wall fixtures simple and straightforward. We use a variety of wire gauges to ensure the perfect fit, safely and securely supporting the weight of your frame.

MOUNTING + BACKING

Depending on your artwork and chosen framing style, we either hinge or dry mount pieces to archival, acid-free foam core.As professional archivists, we never use materials that could damage your art over time, such as MDF or harmful adhesives.
